We seize the opportunity to get our pupils performing all over London, to date we have performed at Her Majesty's Theatre (in the West End), Richmix Theatre (East London) and Trinity Laban Centre (South-West London), to name just a few. At SFEALA, for instance you are welcome to take part in various events throughout the year such as informative integrative medicine and arts-focused. To support provision and give our pupils the best opportunities possible, we also commission many visiting artist to come to Riverside School. Welcome to Studio for Expressive Arts LA (SFEALA) where we invite community to safely gather in order to create social change and awareness through e xpressive arts on current issues that matter. We have a dedicated team of industry professionals specialising in Dance, Drama and Music working permanently within the school. Our state of the art Expressive Arts facilities, give us the perfect environment to allow our pupils to build their creativity, confidence and performance skills. We have developed family projects, inviting our families to perform alongside their children projects specifically designed for certain cohorts of pupils and projects created to bring the whole school together, to ensure that our provision is truly inclusive.
We also run many integrated projects, during which our pupils have the opportunity to work alongside mainstream pupils, enjoying creative and engaging activities and irresistible learning opportunities. We work on a number of different projects across the school year, with many of them culminating in termly/half termly performances. Trauma-Informed Practices and Expressive Arts Therapy Institute, online distance education and courses on expressive arts therapy and art therapy developed. We have seen so many of our pupils shine on stage embrace the experience absorb the atmosphere and flourish through both the rehearsal process and the performance itself. We know that Expressive Arts can build our pupils’ confidence, social skills and provides them with enriching experiences, which will last a lifetime.
